Minerva’s has been a feature of the Kerrisdale dining scene for over 40 years. On November 13, over 20 members of the Let’s Eat Out group enjoyed the owners’ hospitality – the first time the group had met at Minerva’s. The menu is Mediterranean – Greek lamb dishes, pizza, Italian pasta, calamari and so forth. The service was excellent – the entire group was served quickly. Lamb souvlaki seemed to be the favourite dish. One member with a background in advertising described her meal as “scrumtilicous,” clearly meant as a compliment. The group will not meet in December, the better to concentrate on club events.
Eleven members enjoyed a pleasant evening on Wednesday, March 13 at Senova Restaurant on West 57. Lasagne and Cannelloni were colourful and tasty choices. We were the last to leave, closing the restaurant at about 9:30 pm. So the conversation was satisfying too!
Despite the snow and the slush, the gang dined at Maria’s Taverna this month. The warmth of the hearty food and conversation among friends made it well worthwhile.
We would have preferred the weather and the views from Santorini Island as opposed to those of West 4th Avenue. However, the lamb souvlaki was excellent!
